
The principal objective of the Solomon Islands Airports Corporation Ltd (SIACL), Airport Rescue Fire Services, is to save lives in the event of an aircraft accident or incident of Honiara and Munda Airport. The facilities of the ARFFS are always to be directed to attending and dealing with an aircraft incident occurring on or in the immediate vicinity of the aerodrome.
- Honiara and Munda Airport Rescue Firefighting has a standard Operating Procedure Manual detailing standards, practices and procedures.
The Head of Fire is responsible for.
- The daily administration of the ARFFS and Fire-fighting procedures at Honiara International Airport.
- Ensuring that the rules and procedure for responding to and dealing with fires are clearly articulated to fire personnel.
- The general efficiency of ARFFS to ensure that all Rescue Fire duties are carried out.
